Lindsey's Visit

Where do I start?! Where did I leave off ..mom was down for the first week after Jack was born, which was a Godsend. Lindsey came down for a tag team relief mission - Jack was still on the light bed fighting off his Jaundice so we had to go to the Dr.'s every morning to check his billirubin, AJ had an ear infection....So much needed help was found in her visit - sisters are amazing - things alway seem okay when they are there!

It's Another Boy!!

Welcome to the world
Jack Hallman Boatwright!!
March 5, 2007

8 lbs. 14 oz., 21 3/4"

Alan, AJ, and I are so happy to introduce Jack to all of you. He is named after his great granddaddy Captain Jack Miller (Emily's granddad), and Hallman is his great grandmother's maiden name (Alan's Grandmom).

AJ is already being a very helpful big brother (with a few headbutts and toe-pulls thrown in for good measure)!

We are all doing well and I feel great! The second time seems a lot easier - probably because we weren't so terrified - Alan didn't take a 40 minute shower before getting us to the hospital this time!!

He was great support again - although the experience was no where near as funny - he kept his burps to himself and was antsy with anticipation. He was glowing and got to cut the umbilical cord again and is the proud papa of 2!
Thank you so much for all ofyour prayers and support and well wishes - I feel I have missed somany things going on each of your lives and will try to make up for it soon. Keep emailing me updating me - we love you all...
Harold and Harrison - Happy happy birthday - Alan, AJ and I think about both of you all the time and hope that our boys turn out as wonderful as the two of you - we can't wait to see you!
Grandmom and Granddad Miller - Holy Moly - 65 years - that is so amazing - you both are so amazing!! Alan and I look forward to carrying on the torch of long lasting commitment and love! And Granddaddy Happy Birthday - can't wait to celebrate - it makes me so happy to think of you and Gram every time I look at my son!
To all my expectant mothers - Ashley G., Mason H., Beth B., Lisa F. - I hope those bellies are healthy and yall are happy!
For all the other birthdays (Kevin, Earl, Betty, Dale, Scott) Love love you all.
My biscuit - my God Sister !!- You and Shane are so wonderful to my boys - thank you for being a part of our family - yall are the best!
My sisters and family - you're the best - love ya always!
That's all for now - I will keep you updated with all of the firsts! We love you all and think of you often! xxoxo Love the Boatwrights

The Last Days as Three

We have had such a great time with AJ! What a wonderful child and such an amazing experience! We are excited for him to be a big brother...and a little nervous.

The night after I finished the bar exam (this round!!) we were going to eat with my mom (who has been staying with us during the exam), Jim and Pat and Scott. I realized I had no pictures of me pregnant this time so we raced out to catch the last bit of sunlight.

It has been such a different experience this time - but still great - we are blessed with easy pregnancies which helps and Alan and I are having so much fun as parents!

By the time yall read this tomorrow our family will be four! They are inducing tomorrow morning...so if all goes like last time Jack should be here within a few hours of that!

Alan and I will go to the hospital early in the morning and then Gigi will bring AJ later in the afternoon.
We thank you for all of your support and prayers over the last few weeks for all that we had going on - we felt the love! Think of us again tomorrow and please pray for a healthy, happy baby and big brother! Two boys - we can't wait! More to come soon!
Love Alan, Emily and AJ

The BIG Snow Day

Hello all - we miss you!! These pics are from the big snow we got in Columbia! AJ was so excited when he saw the snow coming down ...through the window that is...the story changed after we got bundled up and went outside. That lasted only a few moments until the snow made his
face cold - oh well !

The Zoo

Our schedules have been so hectic lately with the Bar Review starting and employees away on break. We took a much needed Boatwright Day on Saturday and went to the Riverbanks Zoo.

Meghan and Thad's Visit

My younger sister, Meg and her husband Thad came down to help us ring in the New Year! (The picture is from their wedding, obviously, on July 22, 2006 - are they not amazing!!)

It was awesome - though Thad may have felt a little left out by the end of the trip (as we all did) because all AJ wanted was 'My Meghan.'

Meg and Thad had us for pollyanna and got us a digital camcorder !! AJ got a drum and instrument set and they also brought him a hockey jersey...perfect for an Inferno game.

But first let me show you what happens when you let the Krazy Kocubas dress your son...that isn't a hat on his head!

Those are his underwear! And he did not want to take them off!

At the game AJ had primo seats and loved cheering "Go Inferno!"

New Years Eve!!

Pending rain cancelled the fireworks we were going to see so the boys went out and got their own, we got some dessert and headed home for our own show. (Oreo Pie makes everything more festive we decided)

AJ didn't know whether to love them or hate them - we watched some outside, some from his bedroom, some from the bathroom until he asked for NO MORE FIREWORKS!

We played a lot and hated to see them leave. AJ still tells me "I like Thad " and "Meghan will do it with me" So we are looking forward to another visit you two!!

We hope everyone had as great of a holiday as we did and wish you all many blessings this year!!xoxoxo

Christmas Morning

Merry Christmas Morning!
Alan and I actually had to wake AJ up (after I woke Alan up!) on Christmas morning! Maybe growing up with 4 sisters trained me to be up and ready to go at 5am - I let them sleep until almost 7...maybe closer to 6.

Any of my girlfriends know that if you spend the night at our house I do not like being up alone in the mornings - don't you miss those days Trisha and Helena!!

I had planned to sleep as long as I could - after all AJ started telling us mid week, "Santa will bring me Thomas pillows." I am not sure where he got the sudden need for them but I will assure you that they do not exist in Columbia - or didn't the week before Christmas - I was even one of those crazies who went to the mall at 7 am and still nothing. Sooo after a trip to the fabric store - we put AJ to bed and made Thomas pillows and pillow cases. Which changed the mood of Christmas a bit - instead of ripping into his toys like Alan and I were so anxious for him to do he started to get a little bit lazy!! He lay on those pillows and asked for 'another present please' and that is how he opened the next several presents. He finally woke up though and from that point until now whenever he is awake he is scooting through the tunnel his Aunt Kate and Uncle Gwen gave him.

The rest of the day was just as fun - Alan's mom and her husband came over in the morning. Scott and Deanna came over for lunch and brought the very treasured remote control firetruck. When Alan relinquishes the remote AJ gets so escited - it actually squirts water out of the ladder - Jager and Gozzlin do not find it as amusing as the three of us! We went to dinner at Pat and Jim's with Trish and Shane and Tom. More fun - lots of love! Definetly a wonderful Christmas!
